Professional & Caring

Verena Keulen
Occupational Therapist &
Child Care Provider
With a degree in Occupational Therapist and years of experience working in the field, I have established Little Footprints because I find great fulfillment in creating a warm and nurturing environment tailored to the needs of children. Providing a safe, home-like, and stimulating space where children can thrive is very important to me.
Throughout my career, I have gained diverse experience in childcare and education. While earning my high school diploma in Germany, I served as a caregiver at a daycare center for children with special needs. As a university student in the Netherlands, I took on a nanny role and had the privilege of conducting research for my Bachelor's thesis on a specialized activity program for children with special needs at an orphanage in Uganda, Africa. Following my studies, I dedicated several years to working as a pediatric Occupational Therapist in the Netherlands. My journey also led me to work in a daycare in Toronto upon relocating to Canada. Despite these experiences, I found myself longing for a chance to incorporate more creativity, warmth, and flexibility into my work, which inspired me to start my own family child care.
I am currently completing the Responsible Adult course and hold a Children's First Aid certificate. I operate a Registered License-Not-Required Child Care Facility through the Sea to Sky Child Care Resource and Referral Program. My husband, Patrick, and I have both undergone Criminal Record checks, and our child's immunizations are up to date. Little Footprints is a fully insured family child care.
