Our Philosophy
At Little Footprints Family Child Care, we believe in using a holistic approach to childcare that nurtures the whole child. We are committed to fostering a strong connection with nature and providing opportunities for children to explore and learn about the world around them. Our mission is to amalgamate the advantages of German early childhood education with the standards set by Canadian early childhood education.
Family Child Care
Little Footprints is a Registered License-Not-Required (RLNR) family child care. This allows us to take care of two children in addition to our own child. Providing a safe, home-like, and stimulating space where children can thrive is very important to us.
Nature
We integrate the beauty and wonders of the outdoor world into daily activities by leading children on nature walks, bike rides and engaging them in outdoor sensory play to spark their curiosity and imagination. Furthermore, the outdoors gives us many opportunities to develop social, emotional, cognitive, and physical skills.
Organic Food
Recognizing the vital role nature plays in providing sustenance, preparing, and discussing food items is an essential part of our daily routine. We prioritize serving organic, local and low sugar food to our two-year-old daughter and to all children in our care. We also bring the importance of caring for our environment and natural resources to the children's attention.
Language
We speak English, German and Dutch and arrangements can be made to integrate German or Dutch into your child’s care if desired.
